Situated between the provinces of Genoa and La Spezia (Deiva Marina belongs to it), Deiva Marina shows both aspects characterizing these two areas: the wild territory with rocks overlooking the sea, similar to the ones in the Cinque Terre, and a nice sandy beach like the ones in the Tigullio area.
The town is divided into two parts: the old town, with its small roads called “carruggi”, the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate dating back to the 18th Century, the old sight tower defending the town from pirate raids, and the tourist area called “la Marina”, with its seafront, shops, typical restaurants and the beach.
Thanks to the railway station and the A12 motorway exit, Deiva Marina is also a very good starting point to visit the surrounding area. Few minutes by train, and Cinque Terre are at a short distance.
Few minutes by car, and you will be able to reach the Val Fontanabuona, with the old slate mines, the Lunigiana and the Valley of Magra, with the Natural park of Montemarcello, its castles and the remains of the old roman city of Luni.
